The books of the month this August are light science fiction books. By light, we don't mean shining beam :) We mean slightly less creepy and disturbing science fiction novels that you can read at night and are a 5 or less on the creepiness scale (10 being the creepiest). We don't know about you, but Robin is really easily creeped out. These books are still creepy, but, well, you get the point ;)

Sorry, these were the only sci-fi books I've read. DO NOT READ THESE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP. READ THESE IF YOU WANT TO STAY UP. BUT NOT IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP WITHIN 2 HOURS OF READING.
Anyway, in the first book, Gone, Sam is in History class when his teacher disappears! There is no warning. no sound, no puff of smoke. He was there one second, the next he wasn't. Next, a girl named Astrid who was in enrichment class comes into the classroom. The teacher and the other kids have disappeared. Astrid is really smart, so the kids in enrichment were all older than her. A kid in Sam's class also disappeared. Astrid, Sam, and Sam's best friend Quin team up to find out what's happening. They realize that everyone fifteen and older have disappeared. The group also discovers

Hi readers, happy August! :) Are any of you guys a third child? If you are, be glad you aren't in this book! Among the Hidden is about a boy named Luke, who is the third child in his family. Luke has spent his entire life hiding in his house- because of a population law in the apocalyptic world. Couples are limited to two children, and there is a strict law and government limiting them. If the parents have a third child, they must hide him/her in fear of their child being killed :O :( Luke is sick of being cooped up all his life.. One day, while looking out a vent in the attic, Luke sees a girl's face. In a house that already has two boys. He finally sneaks into the house, and gets wrestled to the ground by the girl. Read Among the Hidden to get a daily dose of sci-fi.
