One of the oldest series we've ever written is The Five Girls.
Unlike many other books, if these characters bear resemblance to any person living or dead, or you have been to or heard of some of these places, you obviously have a brain and live near us. These girls have been around since before I was in third grade (I'm going into grade seven). We have watched them grow up- Josephina, the 13-year-old, adopted, from Morocco, into a nineteen-year old with a dream of getting her own cooking show, Patricia, the tomboy, at thirteen, plays every sport out there, but at fifteen she finally finds her feminine side when put to the test, Grace, at age ten, the teacher's pet, all about froufrou and lace, turns into a fourteen-year, all out teenager about fashion and chi-chi and everything but what she was before, Claire, once a bookworm, always a bookworm, but energetic and giggly and a bit loopy when seven, now she's ten, and has more friends and is constantly trying to get her stories published, which is unfortunate, because in a house with an overly energetic dog, a bad-tempered cat, two kooky birds, a lizard that eats anything, two crickets that just want some peace, and three sisters, it's rather hard to keep something safe-plus Claire has become more klutzy and spacey over the years- it's a challenge, and finally Nina, the cute and girly four-year-old has turned into a seven-year-old activist for animal rights (?), under the influence of Josephina, of course, and the stories about them and their world keep on coming, with influence from our own siblings. Enjoy!
