The Hunger Games...
Yes we need to make a page on these. Even though everyone has heard of them, we still feel the need to make a page dedicated to them. Here's the story: In a post-apocalyptic, distopian future (look these words up- I'm good), North America is now an island called Panem. In Panem, there are twelve districts (there was once a thirteenth, but the evil Capitol blew them up- charming, I know.), each one manufactures a different thing:
District One: Luxury Items
District Two: Stonework
District Three: Electronics
District Four: Fishing
District Five: Power
District Six: Transportation
District Seven: Lumber
District Eight: Textiles
District Nine: Grain
District Ten: Livestock
District Eleven: Agriculture
District Twelve: Coal Mining
District Thirteen: Graphite Mining and Nuclear Weapons
So, to decrease the population, the names of two teenagers from each district, one boy and one girl, are picked out of a hat (not really, it's a bowl), and they have to fight one another to the death, and the last one standing gets a new house. The higher number district, the poorer the district. Someone eligible can always take the place of either of the people in their district. The people are called tributes, by the way. So there's this District Twelve girl called Katniss, and her sister Prim is chosen. Katniss takes Prim's place, so she has to compete against twenty-three others. Now Robin wants to write something:
Hi Readers, The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books!!!! My favorite characters are Finnick, the boy who comes off as cocky at first, but is really sweet, (you meet him in Catching Fire, the second book of The Hunger Games trilogy), and Rue, the kind, likable 12 year old who sadly has to compete in the Hunger Games (no one volunteers to do it for her! Waaahhhh!!!!!!!). The Hunger Games is sad, but a VERY good book. I recommend reading it in the daytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
